These photographic images by David & Jan Harris were taken in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona in September 1998. This area is famous for its fabulous red rock formations and slot canyons, these images aim to capture the colours and structure of the landscape. All are 35mm scans with minor manipulation in Adobe Photoshop 4.

 | Bryce Canyon A spectacular ampitheatre of red hoodoos, spires and pinnacles, plus pictures of the surrounding area: Red Canyon, Widstoe ghost town. The rim of Bryce Canyon National Park extends for 18 miles, often with spectacular views of the hoodoos and the Paria valley below. However, there's nothing to beat a hike into the canyon itself. And there's no shortage of trails to choose from. |
 | Paria Canyon & Colorado Plateau The canyons of the Paria river rise at Bryce Canyon and extend south, cutting through the Colorado Plateau to join the Colorado around Lees Ferry. The canyons are spectacular, as is the surrounding scenery: swirling red sandstone formations abound. The Cockscomb, a colourful range of hills extending for more than 100 miles, provides a spectacular backdrop throughout this area. |
 | Paria Canyon & Colorado Plateau So photogenic, we had to have another page! |
 | Grand Staircase Escalante National Park This recently established National Park is one of the more remote and least visited: a feeling of solitude is guaranteed. Our photographs concentrate on the Devil's Garden area.

 | Upper Antelope Canyon, Arizona This spectacular canyon, also known as Corkscrew canyon, is only about 100 metres long and 1 metre wide in places, but offers a wealth of photographic opportunities. Many find a visit here to be an almost spiritual experience, perhaps due to the beams of light which flood the canyon at midday. The colours of the rock shift endlessly as light bounces off the walls.
