Impressions of Nature

These photographic images by David Harris aim to convey an impression of nature. I have concentrated on exploring shape, colour and form of everyday natural subjects such as grasses and butterflies. All images are taken using natural light, mostly with a 90mm macro lens (sometimes with additional extension tubes) and Scotchrome 800/3200 fast slide film. This enables me to take extreme close ups when there is a faint breeze, though I do normally use a tripod. Whilst I have made some straight Cibrchrome prints I now normally use Photoshop 4 to exert some additional control. This also allows me to unlock further creative potetial by combining images and producing derivations.
